Finding Life Directions ( Continued )

As I received feedback from blog reader (Quinn Ho), so here's the answer for her question. It may be true or it may be false. Anyway, it is just an opinion based on psychologist.

Many people feel that they can’t seem to get their lives moving in the right direction. If you embrace the attitudes below, you will find it much easier to get where you want to go.
  • Respect yourself. Without self-respect, you will not have the confidence you need to participate in the world and fulfill your dreams. Being unable to respect yourself is a sign that you need to do some inner healing. Once you have, life can be wonderful again.
  • Get emotional support. The energy you get from those people who care about you is a gift. It’s important to remember that those who have close relationships and friendships with others generally live longer and fuller lives. When you feel the need, reach out to someone you know cares about you.
  • Employ positive thinking. Keeping your thoughts moving in a positive direction not only makes you feel good in the moment but it also staves off anxiety and depression. It also gives you the one thing that we all need to keep our lives moving forward: hope. The more you employ positive thinking, the longer the effects last.
  • Show self-awareness. Knowing who you are and what your purpose is on the planet is one of the keys to happiness. If you don’t know what you want to do with your life at the moment, begin by looking at what you’ve done before that’s made you happy and start creating a list of things that might make you feel that way again.
  • Display kindness. Some people believe that being kind is a weakness, and nothing could be further from the truth. Kindness can make the difference between success and failure. It can make your life and relationships deeper and more meaningful. It can also change the lives of others in a very profound and positive way. Kindness is a very powerful tool.
  • Seize opportunities. Wonderful things pass our way every day. Unfortunately, even though these things may be desirable, some people find it difficult to summon up the energy to go after them. Reach into your heart and find the strength to take on the potential in your life.
  • Trust your intuition. When you get a gut feeling, listen to it. If what you want isn’t going to hurt you or anyone else, and the outcome could be a positive one, go for it. Our inner voices can give us a lot of good information and the inspiration we need to help us achieve our goals.
  • Don’t hide. If you want to make a difference on the planet or just make a difference for yourself, you have to get out there, so people can see what you are doing. Some people will help, and a few may be detractors, but if you don’t make it known that you want something new, nothing will change for the better. These tips have helped thousands of people lead fuller lives and discover parts of themselves they have never known. Happiness does come from moving forward.

Finding Direction In Life

How can you get what you want from life if you don't know what it is that you want ?

In the previous post I talked about How to Deal with Hurt, Heart-ache and Loss and this is the second part.
By applying the method taught previously, you’re able to let go of any events, people or things in your past that have been holding you back from moving forward and finding happiness.

But true happiness and success is very difficult to attract if you don’t know what you want from life. I specifically used the word “attract” because happiness and success are not things that you pursue, they are things that you attract into your life by becoming the kind of person that deserves these things.

The problem of our generation seems to be that the majority of us feel lost, confused and are without a sense of purpose. We have no direction in our lives and seem to be floating about aimlessly. Going from relationship to relationship, job to job, day to day, seeking happiness in material possessions.

What kind of satisfaction can you get from spending 8 hours per day sitting in a cubicle? How can you expect to be happy if you’re stressed or depressed?

If you (or someone you know) are unhappy with life… could it be because you don’t have a direction or sense of purpose in life? Because you wake up in the morning with no goal to work towards, idly hoping that lady fortuna will send something good your way?

You may very well have many dreams and desires, but without knowing exactly what you want, you’re not going to be able to work towards it. While it may come as a surprise to you, it’s in fact no wonder that you’re not successful or making progress towards reaching those goals if you don’t know what you want.

  • Everything you do should contribute to achieving your goals
  • Remember that true happiness comes from within
  • Give everything you have your full 100%

To sum up, this section is a summary of the plan you need to follow if you want to find direction in your life and if you want to stop feeling lost or confused:
  • You can’t get what you want if you don’t know what you want.
  • Define your goals and focus all your actions and energy on getting close to those goals.
  • Become the person that attracts happiness and success instead of pursuing them.
  • Do what you love doing on a daily basis.
  • Give everything that you do 100% effort.
  • F.L.A.P. it (Finish Like A Pro).

How to deal with hurt, heart-ache and loss ?

Nothing in life goes exactly the way you plan it. You can get exactly what you want from life but it hardly ever comes in the exact way or at the exact time that you want it to and it often ends up sticking around for longer or shorter than you plan it to.

If you don’t know how to deal with this it can cause terrible frustration and fill your heart with sadness for much longer than it should. I decided to write this article for all of you who are experiencing hurt, heart-ache or loss your lives right now in order to help you get through the difficult times…

Eyes with tear
“You never get to see it coming, you just get to watch it go.” – Drake

When you think about it, every good thing that’s ever happened to you has kind of snuck up of you and gradually made it’s way into your life and become a part of you. You’re never aware of when it going to arrive (like a new love, business success or awesome friends) but you’re always very aware when it leaves.

I personally still get very sad when things I’ve come to enjoy and love so much are over and leave my life. I’m not just talking about girls who I end up falling for, but also the change when times with friends come to an end or when there’s a big change to my life routine that I’ve come to love. A simple truth about life is that any place is only as good as the people you know there. When one or more of the people you know in a place leave from your life (whether it be through the end your relationship, them moving to another place or even through death) the place becomes a lot less special and you’re left with an empty space in your life.

I know many of you experience similar feelings when losing something or someone you’ve come to love. Many of you struggle dealing with the change and accepting the fact that what you got so used to loving is now no more. Based on my own experience and knowledge, here’s what you need to do to deal with hurt, heart-ache and loss in the best way possible and how to move on…

There are several ways.
  • Make Peace With “Constant Change”
  • Embrace the hurt
  • Let it go and look forward
In this case, I would emphasize on embrace the hurt and let it go and look forward.

Embrace the Hurt

Some losses are more difficult to deal with than others. I’d say that the death of a loved one is pretty much the worst loss you can experience but the ending of a relationship can also be very difficult to deal with. Everyone has different ways of dealing with change or loss, but I’d say that the best way to deal with any form of hurt is to:

Embrace the hurt, shed the tears, cherish the memories and move on with nothing but love in your heart.
Let it go and look forward.
Console yourself with the fact that the universe has bigger plans for you and that there are many great things that will still come into your life. You may not always understand the reason why your life follows the path it does and why certain things come into and leave from your life but there is always a reason. Sometimes it’s best to let go of wanting to know why, to stop swimming upstream and to just go with the flow and let the river of life take you wherever it’s going to take you.

“Sometimes something needs to fall apart in order for something better to come together.”

Life~

Life is connected. Just like a network, any thing that we done in a single step could affect our whole life.
Let's take an example below :

GB

The photo above was taken inside the KTMB Train during my trip to Berjaya Times Square from Seremban. Just like the photo above, in my opinion, our life is just like that. Every part is connected.

From the observation on this cracked glass, it relates my mind into life and it's consequences. In order to success in our life, we need a very good planning. In depth, goal planning. Setting goals isn't something we should do because it's a new year. Goals should be continuously created as you think of them and revised quarterly if not after changes and other impactful moment. Goals do not all have to be crazy far new ideas but most of them should be the reflections to improve habits and reinforce our ideal situation or vision of ourself and our accomplishments.

"Setting goals is the first step in turning the invisible into the visible. "- Tony Robbins

As the quote above, I have researched on the guide to set up and achieve our goals. First of all, choose a life goal. There is no perfect answer for this. Certain people have known for a while now what they really want, but just haven't pursued it, and for them, it just takes a little contemplation to realize what they've wanted all along. Others will have a more difficult time, as they have never figured out what their dream is, or what
they'd like to accomplish. For this kind of people, I would suggest them to try out the way below :
  • Take some time for quiet contemplation.
  • Think about what's important to yourself
  • Brainstorm - make a list of all the things you'd like to do in life, things that sound fun and exciting and wonderful, and then choose the best of the list.
Next, learn about the way to achieve the goals.  “Success will be within your reach only when you start reaching out for it.” ― Stephen Richards, Think Your way to Success: Let Your Dreams Run Free
Therefore, the way or the process is very important in the path of achieving the goals set.

Last, keep track of our goals and ensure that the pathway is correct. Many people think that failing in a single step would affect their whole life but actually failure is the mother of success. " When you fail, that is when you get closer to success. " Thus, to success we need go through many failures and we should not be afraid of it. As we gone through these obstacles, we are able to achieve success and even our goals.

For the next post, I will write up on " How to stop feeling LOST in life "

The Life as an In-house guide at Royal Selangor Visitor Centre~

Right after my STPM exam, I started to work at Royal Selangor Visitor Centre as an in-house guide. This is a very good beginning for the process of building my communication skills and polish up my languages.

To make this clear, I will put up some images of my working place.

Visitor Centre
Is it beautiful?? I guess it is.
As all of you know, to be a good in-house guide we all need to undergo a series of training. I remember a few months back when I worked here I got trained and tested out before I am allowed to guide a tour group. But after 9 months of working there, I continued my further study at Alpha College of Technology. After I done my first semester, during the semester break I worked here again. But during this time, the company had an upgraded facility and improved tour guiding. Therefore, I had to undergo another training before approved to guide the tourist arriving. This time, I remembered very well.
On 7th of February 2014, I was brought to a workshop called The Foundry in this Visitor Centre for training. What I enjoy in workshop was that I could experience the process of making a piece of pewter accessories but as it was a training so I can't bring home my masterpiece. Never try, never know. What I had done in this workshop is a piece of moulded roses with love. Let's see the picture of it below.
Moulded Pewter
I guess the craftmanship on this pewter piece is not that good as I am a beginner just giving it a try. After all, this piece is unique and it was the one and only one piece of pewter accessory in the world. ( Because it was made by me ). Once I had completed the workshop, I took a photo of this and sent it to a friend who always chat and talk with me and try to ask for some opinion regarding this. Who is that friend? I could only show the picture here.
Joey
Due to privacy and according to Personal Data Privacy Act 2010, I can't reveal her personal information here. She commented on the masterpiece that I had made and what comes out in my mind was I could make another piece of pewter accessory with her name. In this case, her name is Joey. So, on the next day I made something like this.
Freehand Design
I know it came out not as well as those experienced pewtersmith but after all this was another piece of free hand design of her name without any moulds or patterns. She really appreciate my piece of work. As all of you know that I mentioned just now this was the part of job training therefore I could not bring this piece of artwork home and gift it to her. Anyway, I promised her that if she ever visit KL I will take her to this workshop and she will make her own pewter accessory herself while all the expenditure will be handled by me. One day, I hope she can really turn out so that she would experience what I had enjoyed here.

For more information about this workshop, please call up 03-4145 6122 / 03-4145 6350 for enquiry.
